Introduction to randomness: Hard Gay

*ricky martin’s ’she bangs’ tune’s intro*
*Doooooomoooooooooooooooooo… Hardo gay desuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!*

Hmmm… I know the this sounds wrong but I was once addicted to this character called Hard Gay. Yet, another comical character from Japanese television, and yeah, japan this country has sooo many things to offer okay..! Banzai~

Hard Gay was a tv personality, acted out by Razor Ramon (real name: Masaki Sumitami). He was a wrestler by profession and well. read up on him in wikipedia i guess. Thats all i can say.

Catch all of Hard Gay’s episodes on youtube. Just type ‘bakafish’ on search<- yep, that’s the name of the translation group that subbed the whole episodes for internet consumers.

Here’s one example of a music video that was done.. with, of course, ecchi feel and comical lyrics.

sidenote: i read up somewhere that hard gay created controversials within the homosexual communities as some were apparently felt insulted and stuffs like that. Hmmm.. i dunno. to me, he’s just another random entertaining character with exaggerated persona. and i love Razor Ramon. Hooooooooooooooooooooo~~~!!!

ah, and when he got negative comment from people whom he was interacting with, his trademark phrase would be, “say say say say!~” and yeah. i used them once in a while. hahaha *blushed*

Heartwarming stuff i found 14 minutes ago

Why 14 minutes? okay, to tell you guys (and gurls) the truth… its nothing. hahaha.

no significance or what-so-ever.

Anyway, history repeated itself again, yesterday. I guess Digital Output Room has some grudge over me or something. hahaha. The first one being there to calibrate my laptop.. and I stupidly left my laptop charger back home, so i have to travel back, retrieved it and did it. The second one, being somewhat muddlehead, happened to be yesterday, when I was there to cut the vinyl. I did not outline the font, and it was not the common font. hahaaha.. went back, did stuffs to the file and then went back and gave it Carlos. He must be laughing at my whatever-you-wanna-call. *sigh*

anyway. moving on. Here’s the vid:

It’s Brian Littrell (from BSB) and his son.. Awwwwwwwww.. so cute. waahaha *nosebleed*

Great to see someone so homie and humble, performing on stage, and not forgetting their loved ones as well. whahaa

There are few ways to look at it:

1. publicity stunt

2. corrupting the mind of lil kid

3. sharing of the joy in his life

lol. you decide which is more likely to be.

Request

Im trying to answer people’s request here. whahhaa. So far I had Tom asking me to show him some of the Indonesian song (that I think is nice, of course ohohho) and Gab asking me to put up some of my freerunning stuffs (which my friend is stilll finding in her stacks of hard drives ahahha).

And now, Im breaking my ‘usual trend of rock’ cause Indonesian songs are about love love love man~ so yeah, practically most of the songs are in pop genre, well, maybe soft rock + pop, but definitely strong element of pop. Which is why, again, causes me not to be so much into them, but heck, they are nice and thats okay. whhahaa. Some are into a lil lil bit of techno, grunge but mostly, still pop. whahhaa… And the PV, they may not have so much appeal. whaha. simple scenes and stuffs..
And yes… dramatic actions… dramatic songs. whahahaa.. tts all i can say, i guess.. till then. Enjoy.

1. Jikustik – Pulanglah Padanya
This is one of Indonesia’s popular band. Decent voice, decent music, usual love songs (this is the sad one). And erm oh yeah, cute bassist. what can i say. its the same everywhere. pop band = good lookers. whahhaha..

2. Nidji – Child
Oh well oh well, this song.. doesnt have a music video yet. So this is the best i can find for you people. Errm… its an indonesian english song. whahahaha… whatever. BUt i still like it though.. a LOT!

3. Samsons – Kisah Yang Tak Sempurna
The new arising boyband. He has great voice. hehehe. And yeah, another sad love song, on failed relationship. Usual stuff.

4. Peterpan feat. Chrisye – Menunggumu
This is the (currently) the most popular band in Indonesia. Great lyrics, songs, music, etc… oh well. the list goes on. Chrisye (rip) was one of the most popular singer as well, passed away earlier this year from some cancer. He had… unique voice. tts all i can say. And yes, this song (another sad one, i wonder if i will be able to find the happy ones) is a bout waiting..

5. Garasi – Bukan
Garasi is an interesting band, formed by actors + an actress, scouted to form his band and then, make the movie. So yeah, pretty much ‘fabricated’. But well, i love her voice. and the music. lol. what else.. whahaa.

6. Dewa 19 – Kirana
Hmm.. this band is like the Aerosmith of Indonesia (but muuuuuuch way younger). Its an old song, super popular hit, but yeah, for the reason which you all can see clearly (my last name) I like this song a lot. Nice song too, great lyric. Hahaha. A lil bit sidetrack, Kirana… is some mythical God in javanese culture.

7. ADA Band feat. Gita Gutawa – Yang Terbaik
You will love this if you love charlotte church voice, whahaha. The lil girl here sang so well that i couldnt resist to replay this song for dozens of time before i move on to other songs. Hmm. this song is about father and how we appreciate our father’s love

8. Mocca – I Remember
Mocca is the first (i think) indonesian band that sang english songs. Hehehe. I love her dreamy voice. Lol. Most of the songs are good, but i really need to find the others in youtube cause they are not widely known.

9. Mocca – Secret Admirer
So classic. whahaha, They’re still one of the best though~

I ♥ Shingo Mama

I finally found the url to download videos from youtube again, which is great! Since lots of people share videos on youtube with their friends. I love keeping them though and I always had trouble getting those from them. Or, well, music videos, or funny videos. Sometimes we just want to keep them so badly and sometimes they are not anywhere for sale. haha.

so yeah. if you want the url, pls msg me.

Okay, back to the topic, I was with Lynn watching her favourite musician, Gackt, when I chanced upon a video on youtube which feature Gackt and Shingo Mama. This probed me to show Lynn the video I saw back then on Shingo Mama.

A lil of background info, Shingo Mama is (IF my source of info is correct) a character designed by japanese government to promote family communication. wikipedia:shingo mama.

and I loveeeeee the funny video of him that’s titled “Oha!” (translated as: good morning). Call me weird but I really think that the concept is good, and cute. And we used to greet each other with “Oha~” after the Oha syndrome spread through the whole Temasek Deisgn Sch.

I had lotsa more to write, but i’ll be stopping myself here, as I want to take a bath (yes, at 1:38 am) and read up a bit for ENGL (3 essays are not ‘a bit’) and maybe do storyboarding for FVIM (this is fun.. but i need inspiration to keep in track with the visuals flow)

and yeah, side tracking a little bit, if you want to know whether or not the person’s indonesian, check this out:

take a look at how they open their door. If it stated “pull” and they push it, he/she is an indonesian.

haha. not because we cant understand them, but we have a habit of pushing, when it says pull, vice versa. Cos most of the doors in Indonesia swing both ways, and still, they have the swing-direction notice on them. funny. funny country, funny people.

SFU Trip for “reading the screen” course

MHIS 205: Reading the screen

It was a cold and stormy day.. (well, it wasn’t that bad, actually. Just cold.) when we had to be at SFU Harbour Centre to attend a small-scale seminar (in conjunction with the Vancouver International Film Festival).
I was on my mp3 so Lynn (a fellow DIVA neighbour) miscalled me and then, fueled up by anger (and chilling wind) terrorised me to take over the ever-slow-moving bus, just because she had reached our meeting point way faster than what she should be. Turned out that we reached downtown about 30 minutes earlier and we had coffee at Blenz (we stupidly sat at the side of the door, getting those chilled wind every time people opened the door)…

Okay! To cut the crap out, Mr Saul Rubinek had a super last minute cancellation on us, so they brought in Anne Wheeler to talk to us. She started her talk by telling us stories… I was amazed at her story (about how she survived the film industries in those early days) of a Native Indian Lady whom she documented about. It was so heart-wrenching…. Especially to the point where she talked about death and peacefulness.. *whoaaah*

And there was her videos too. The first one looked kind of… er… well… jerky. My guess was that ’she had a super bad cameraman’: unstable shoulder… lol. You name it. The 2nd and 3rd video came along very well. Like, i could not spot anything that displeasure me. The cuts were clean and crisp, the shots were strong and impactful… The mise-en-scene..
*nosebleed*

(wow this sounds like I’m rambling about another world)

So, to sum it all up, I enjoyed the presentation. A little overkill but she was definitely an interesting individual to talk to.
Too bad i left early for school.

hahaha

Videos recommended

Hi all, this is Kath. I am video-surfing @ youtube right now and I found quite a number of beautiful videos… They’re mostly Japanese songs ( I love J-Rock! yay!)…

#1: Tsukiko Amano – Koe
Interesting song, i love the tune, the scream and the strings…
Great colours and interesting concept too. An OST for Fatal Frame 3 (a very beautiful PS2 game)

#2: Larc en~ciel – Seventh Heaven
Great visuals, i really love the compositions and the choreography~

#3: Larc en~ciel – Jojoushi
Some of you would have seen me presenting this video as the inspiring video for FVIM 211 class.
The whole ‘after effect’ startle me so much that i dreamt of the whole scenario one night (cant remember when)
And yes, do-able. Only time will tell, how horrendous the workload it should have. Very creative concept approach…

#4: Dir en grey – Kodou
The most beautiful song ever (i think), and of course, the undeniable lovely 2nd scream.
Melted my heart. Hahahaha <— duh, i sound like a fan girl or something.
Well, apart from this song (and a few others), Dir en grey may not be the band you want to
listen to, due to the crazy screamo metal genre.

#5: 30 Seconds from mars – From Yesterday
Looks like Mr Jared Leto finally do something he should be doing from quite sometime: directing.
hahaha. Personally, I like the video. Really2 love the video. Sword fight was cleverly choreographed.
And they’re the only band who filmed (or videotaped) their PV in the Forbidden City… interesting
concept he had there…

#6: Linkin Park – Numb
beautiful song, accompanied by beautiful gothic setting, wardrobe, costumes, lighting, VFX etc
(hey i’m sidetracking to MHIS! oh no, please forgive me…)
*nosebleed* “I become so numb, i can’t feel you here…”

#7: Linkin Park – Breaking the Habit
Beautiful animation. Good job for Joe Hahn & Mike Shinoda~

#8: Larc en~Ciel – Killing Me
I just love the visual effects… And interesting ending… Ohohoho

#9: Tsukiko Amano – Chou (butterfly)
This is the ending them song for Fatal Frame 2.
Beautiful contrast, brings out the emotional feelings and hopelessness…
Erm.. beautiful, very very beautiful shots, mise-en-scene and editing as well.
Would be perfect, if there is lesser of the band shots

#10: Gackt -Yami no Shuuen (Returner)
Dark video… that has the ability to entertain people who needed the emotional roller coaster.
(lol, seriously!) And it took him the whole song to die. hahaha.
By the way, Gackt is also a super beautiful being, second to Hyde (from Larc En~Ciel)

So yeah.. til then, enjoy the vids…~
